Definitely not for console gamers or weak GPUs/demanding games. Much harder to recommend in the UK where it's significantly dearer even if you don't include VAT in the comparison... Not massively surprisingly considering it's the same story for the PG279Q, that's also way dearer in the UK in comparison to the US. It looks like the ASUS monitor takes so much time to boot that the system thinks there is only one monitor for a while, until the it goes up. This thread is archived. After twenty minutes of inactivity, all three monitors go to sleep as expected. The VG27AQ is paired with my old ACER GN246HL, and when they wake up the ACER blinks.

These TUF monitors seem to be Asus‘ „lower end“ gaming line.

You can fine tune the Overdrive from 0 to 100 … I believe nVidia cards priority is HDMI > DP. Issue #2 HDRIf the HDR option is enabled in windows display settings then whenever I am on Fullscreen mode in-game and I use media keys on the keyboard to turn on volume or windows notification is arrived then the monitor disconnects and connects which takes ~5 seconds, it's so annoying.Seems like windows cannot handle multitasking with HDR on in fullscreen applications, whenever a new application needs to use the display with an overlay on your fullscreen application, then windows need to: Turn on HDR and get back to the fs application.Suggestion for HDR, use it only if available as an option in the application/game and not trough Windows for now. This is the center monitor in a triple-monitor setup, the two other monitors being a pair of 1080p/60 Dells that were my dual-monitor setup before getting this new monitor.

I think the overshoot is high for the recommended settings.

Keeping my eye on the market as I'm looking to buy one in this spec area. Looks very competitive to the LG tbh. Typical IPS. Basically, if you let a DP monitor go to sleep, Windows will think that rather than just going to sleep, it will think it's been disconnected. I tried g sync and the new LG I can say easily I didn't notcied not a single difference. I think this is the time I miss a ptoper GSync version of this monitor, it would would probably have a much better balance of response times vs overshoot all across the board. Waking up my monitors takes 7 or 8 seconds before they're usable, whereas when this was just a dual-monitor setup, they both woke up simultaneously and instantly. I mean, one should've expected TUF to be tier below ROG/Strix, but seriously, I expected Asus that it would just be cheaper due to it being FreeSync/G-Sync Compatible instead of having an actual physical module. I specifically won't go for the PG279QZ because I have an AMD GPU, silly they don't have freesync on it.

A bit of strobe crosstalk. I was wondering the same and just went for the 27GL850. ASUS just announced the XG279Q at Gamescom. Much better contrast ratio, comparable response time and pixel responsiveness, up to 165hz, and good out-of-the-box color accuracy. Any Overdrive makes overshoot skyrocket into 14%+ range and no OD puts responses to 11ms+. I was expecting at least one major drawback here. I didn't find any solution, except to connect other monitors with DP (but my ACER is HDMI/DVI only, I will probably buy a DP>DVI-D cable some day). That'd just undercut their own sales.
